Blackened Tilapia With Butter Lime Sauce

As promised before, today I would like to share a healthy and delicious fish meal;

Blackened Tilapia with Butter Lime Sauce


1 Lime
2 Tbspoon chopped fresh cilantro (NOTE: daun ketumbar, in Malay or also known as Coriander/Chinese parsley)
2 Garlic Cloves, finely minced
1 Tbspoon canola oil
4 tilapia fillets (abt 170g each)
2 Tbspoon blackening seasoning (refer here for method to prepare it yourself)


Grate 1 teaspoon of lime zest, and then halve the lime and squeeze the juice (from both halves) into a small bowl. Add butter, cilantro and garlic; stir to blend. Set aside.

Heat the canola oil ( I used olive oil) in a pan over high heat. Rub the tilapia fillet all over wih the blackening seasoning. When the oil in the pan starts to lightly smoke, add the fish and cook undisturbed until the spice rub becomes dark and crusty, 3 to 4 minutes. Flip and cook until the fillets flake with gentle pressure from your finger, about 1 to 2 minutes more.

Transfer the fish to four serving plates and immediately top each fillet with a bit of flavoured butter (the sauce). Serve in 15 minutes time! ;)

But honestly, izu mcm tak pnh mkn ikan tilapia. Nti bolehla cuba..kt sini mmg byk jual ikan tilapia ni. :)

Haaa, boleh la try since tilapia is easy to find in London. Cuba tau! :)

Nadia pun first time makan tilapia laut. tilapia sungai pernah makan few times. So far, what i noticed, laut punye less hanyir compared to sungai :)
