Children & The Playground

Although our current house is situated just in front of a playground (how conveniently it is for our 3Fs :P), me and my husband loves to bring our children to other playground as well. Sometimes, it's nice to let them enjoy similar things but in different ambiance and environment once a while. Even Faaz had his 2nd Birthday Party at the playground! :)

Recently, we just found out that Putra Heights have a nice playground and jog tracks somewhere near Putra Bistari. Since we were on leave on that Monday, we decided to bring our children to play at the playground that evening.

The view from the parking lot

Although we went there at 5.30pm, the sun still scorching hot when we arrived. It did not bother our kids though...they were too excited to play rather than worrying on the weather. Mommy dia je... :P

All set and ready for the first ride!

and here we go!! :)

Whilst the brother was busy running around and got himself occupied with the swinging, sliding, climbing and running, the twins were busy playing together. At one point, they even support each other while playing. I managed to snap a photo of it, and i thought it was cute :)

One of the advantages of being a pair of twins, you will always have partners for seesaw activity! hehe..

Falisya: "It's safe to slide, Faiqa. Don't worry, you have me down here to support you" :D

"Heeeee! I am a bit scared, mommy!"

"Weee! It's not that bad after all! :)"

Falisya steadily sliding down ;)

Last but not least, Abang Faaz's turn

Did you know that playground is actually a vital part of childhood? Playing outside the house, especially at the playground helps the children to learn and develop new sets of skills such as;

1) Sense of self

Where they learn to improve their competence and confidence with their own physical

2) Sense of connection

to place, to peers and to their local community and environment.

3) Thinking and problem solving skills

As children assess risks and tackle new challenges they learn about having a go, persistence and perseverance and the success those attributes can bring.

4) Imagination and creativity

Outside play is often open-ended and children need to be creative about what and how games are played.

5) Social Skills

When they play with other children they learn to communicate, share, collaborate and empathetic with others.

6) Self care Skills

Managing physical and social challenges helps children to learn about keeping themselves safe

Beside all these points, personally I think that playground also is a good place for your children (and yourselves) to work out, sweat and get some fresh air with no cost at all!
