Flavours, Bangsar

Few weeks ago, we went to Bangsar to visit the Naza KIA Test Drive Center. We had made appointment to test drive the Optima K5 and Sportage. Not that we plan to change our second car at the moment, it's just for us to have a feel of driving an SUV and the difference between driving an SUV and a sedan car...

Sempat jer nak posing...hik! :P

Faaz Naqi entertaining himself while waiting for our turn.
Suruh tinggal kat rumah, tak mau...kan dah boring :P

The drive test was actually meant for me, and I decided to drive the Sportage first (as I was keen to drive an SUV). It was a nice experience, and the point plus of driving an SUV for a petite person like me is the full view ahead of u (since it's elevated)...lebih confident. Hihi :). Plus, I love the fact that they have the open/close sliding and tilting glass sunroof. We can see clearly the panoramic view of KL city, such as the beautiful high-rise buildings, the trees and of course the beautiful clouds!

However, as I was about to test drive the delicious K5, rain pour heavily in KL so I decided to let my husband to drive the car first and I chose to wait till the rain subdue.. In a way, I got the chance to have the driver's and the back passanger's experiences. Heheh! :P

It was 2 hours past the lunch hour when we finished and we were pretty much hungry that we decided to have lunch somewhere nearby. I suggested we dine at Flavours; the famous Chef Riz's restaurant. Heard so much about it, and saw many mouth watering photos of The Flavours dishes from the instagram.. :)

Saw this nice bakery shop on the way to Flavours...heard the breads are good!

Finally we were here! :)

Flavours is situated only few blocks from the Test Drive Center, and we were quite lucky that we found a nice parking slot nearby. Since it's already past lunchtime there was only a small crowd when we went inside. Cosy...

Faaz & Mommy yang excited nak try the food...
while Daddy, can't even smile cause he's too hungry >.<

We ordered the famous Beef Wrap as our appetizer. Oh my gucci, it's delicious! No wonder people keep on talking about it. I give it a 5 star. Seriously, balik tu teringat-ingat kot..hihi. Nyums!

Hubby was really hungry so he decided to have a rice meal. He went for Nasi Melaya set which includes Nasi Jasmin, Daging Salai Lemak Cili Padi, Sambal Udang Petai, Ayam Kampung Goreng and Kerabu Epal Kasturi. It was nice, modern meets traditional...

Although I have chicken chop in mind, I finally ordered the RFC (stands for Riz's Fried Chicken) since my boy wanted to eat fried chicken. I know he can never finished his meal alone so I decided to share with him... Not bad at all, the chicken was crunchy and the honey mustard sauce complimented it well. Even my fussy eater Faaz Naqi enjoyed 'em all (of course the salad was an exception :P). My only comment will be the bun... I prefer the KFC type of bun instead of the sweet potato bun.

If you are a fan of Chef Wan's celebrity chef son, do drop by the restaurant during lunchtime and dinnertime and you'll find him busy in the kitchen from the glass window there. Sometimes, he do came over to your table when he's free..

Overall, Flavours is a nice restaurant that served good food, as good as the presentation is! We'll definitely come again to try out other signature dish especially the famous buttermilk spaghetti...and of course for more beef wraps! hihi :)

Crocodile Farm, Malacca

During our trip to Malacca in last June (read here), we missed to visit the Crocodile Farm as requested by Faaz Naqi so when we went back to Batu Pahat during Eid holiday, we made a point to visit Melaka on the way back to KL.

We checked out early than the usual time and left Batu Pahat at about 11 am just to arrived at Malacca town during lunchtime. Faaz Naqi especially was very anxious, he refused to go to the Malacca town for lunch worrying that we might missed the opening hours again. Aduhai anak! After a series of persuasion Faaz finally agreed to have lunch first but insisted that we have it at McD (there's a McDonald branch situated next to the Crocodile Farm). Punyelah tak mau pegi jauh-jauh... :P

"Hello, mate!"
He even dressed up similar like the crocodile hunter; the late Steve Irwin :P

We went inside the Crocodile Farm right after lunch. It was scorching hot, (the usual weather in Malacca) but it didn't bothered Faaz or the twinnies. They were all excited to see the crocodiles! The admission fee of this crocodile farm is RM10 for adults and RM6 for children aged 5 and above, which means we only had to pay RM20 for 5 of us. Yay! :))

Sunbathing :P

spotted a big fat one there! :P

Some of the crocodiles were asleep, some were sun-bathing and some were swimming when we came inside the farm. Since the fences were high up, me and hubby had to take turns carrying our 3FN's so that they have a clear view of the crocs :)

Faiqa Nayra was amazed of the crocs...

We were fortunate that after 5 minutes of walking, we realized that it was the time for the crocodile show. Told that to Faaz and he was excited, he kept on asking what would a crocodile do during the show...hihi

Us, while waiting for the show to start.
Ain't he looked soooo happy?
*blessed* :)

The girls were excited too!

Daddy and the twins :)

The show started off with a magic show, with some simple tricks for the kids. Faaz was not that impressed tho, in fact he ended up asking us a lot of questions such as, "where did they hide it?" "how come the scarf didn't burnt at all?". He was thinking about of the logical side of it instead of enjoying the show... :)

The magic act

As soon as the magic show ended, the crocodile trainers brought in a croc onto the stage...

Then, they sprinkle some water onto the crocodile, sort of calming it I guess...

The first trick was to put a hand inside the crocodile's mouth which was wide opened...and then he went further inside. Erk!

Then came to the next trick...which I thought was quite clever of them (the trainers). One of them went into the crowd with a small box, while the host asked the viewer if any of us want to see this trick; which was feeding some cash notes inside the croc's mouth. What we have to do was to provide the cash (obviously!) and they will feed it inside the croc's mouth :P

As expected, it was a total success...After the show, we decided to tour around the farm. For your info, there are other attractions in this farm besides the crocodiles. To begin with, they have Malaysia in Miniature which displayed 13 replicas of historical monument in Malaysia. These includes Keris, A Famosa, Stadthyus, Building of Parliament, Building of Perdana Putra ( Federal Government Administrative Centre), Palace of Justice, Sepang F 1 Circuit, Rafflesia Flower, National Monument, National Mosque, Petronas Twin Tower, KL Tower and Penang Bridge.

some of the replicas :)

ini kerja tuan direktor @ en. suami :D

Besides that, they have the Reptile Corner, which is the house of other reptilian such as green anaconda, long neck turtle, alligator fish, alligator snapping turtle and king cobra. Baby crocodiles are displayed here too!

The twins were busy looking at the turtles :)

The  Walk-through Aviary is situated next to the Reptile Corner, it is a house for many species of birds. There were few cute and colorful birds inside it, but sadly there were few dead birds inside the house as well...I wonder why they did not removed it... sedih tengok :(

The twins were busy looking at the turtles :)

I just love this snaphot of Falisya looking at the birds.
Well done, sayang. It was beautifully captured! :)

Next, we went to see the rabbits at the Mini Rabbit Farm. You can go in and feed the rabbit if you want to, but you have to pay for the rabbit food...RM5 for each packet if I am not mistaken. Since the kids have the experienced before during our trip to Bukit Tinggi, we just saw the rabbits from the fences..

Faiqa Nayra yang comot bermandi peluh, but still happy to explore the farm :)

The kids watching the cute bunnies :)

For those of you who plan to visit this croc farm soon, do bring some extra clothes for your children especially as they also have the Children Water Playground. The Water Park is spread over a vicinity of 6000 sq feet. It places one round of adult slide, water jet tunnel, water curtain, shower umbrella and a replica of waterfall. Too bad we had to skip this because we didn't brought in the baby bag, since we thought it's gonna be a short visit inside :P

Before we ended our tour, all 5 of us went for a train ride at the Dino World. It was a small train, moving on a small track towards the dinosaur jungle. Everything there were old fashioned stuff, I bet they were there since like 20 years ago...:P Nevertheless the children enjoyed the ride...hihi :)

All in, I must say that Malacca's Crocodile Farm was not bad at all. With the amount we paid for the tixs, I think the kids enjoyed spending almost an hour in the farm....

and the most important thing is...

we finally made Faaz Naqi wish came true, yay!...hihi :)

Cousin Athirah Wedding

Last two weeks, we went to a family wedding held at The Club @ Bukit Utama.  It was our first time to attend a wedding there, never knew there's a club house near to One Utama. It was indeed a nice place, with the banquet hall facing the huge swimming pool view. Lovely :)

It was my second cousin's wedding from my mom side and it's good to see relatives from Johor, Brunei and Singapore came all the way for the wedding. Sort of Raya reunion although raya has just ended two days prior. :)

We came a bit late, about the same time with the arrival of the bride and groom. After the "berarak" completed, we took a seat each and waited for the prayer recital to finish before having the meal :)

The newlyweds in English theme :)

Cousin Athirah (in pink) is the daughter of the late Dato' Daud Taha, the former deputy minister of housing and local government

My girls in red polka dresses :)

while my boy in plain white, matching with his daddy :)

Alhamdulillah, there were variety of food served for us. They also had an ice-cream booth and desert booth. Faiqa especially, enjoyed the ice-cream so much!

I was lucky that day because Faaz decided to eat by himself, while the twinnies preferred to be fed by their Tok Mak. Mommy rehat! Hehehe...

Mak wore green that day while yours truly in dusty pink.
Apparently, I wore the theme color for the family, hence few times orang ingat I adik beradik pengantin. Hihi :)

Since we came late, most of our relatives dropped by our table while we were eating, hence there's no photos from us as token of memory...we only took few photos after that, when half of the crowd were gone. Hehehe..

Don't know what happened to Faiqa that day. Half of her photos were like this. She was "asleep" in most of  the photos :P

Me and the Amirah's (because their initial's is "Amirah"), olso my second cousin. Semua anak dara cantik-cantik belaka :)

and finally, us yang tak cukup quorum.
Hihi...tell you it ain't easy to gather the 5 of us in one photo these days :P
*lap peluh*

Celebrating Raya with Nuffnang and Papa John's Pizza

It's a norm these days in Malaysia that invites for Raya Open House/Raya celebration will prolong even after the last day of Syawal. Alhamdulillah, I received my last Raya invite a day after Syawal ended, on last Saturday. It was from Nuffnang Malaysia and it's a collaboration with Papa John's Pizza.

Raya + Pizza..

Interesting, right? :)

Since it's a +1 invite, I invited my husband, the pizza lover to join me. He was a bit reluctant at first because it's a blogger event but I knew he can't resist the pizza part. It was true indeed. Hihi. Afterall, Papa John's are among his favourite pizza restaurant :)

The event was held at Papa John's Centrepoint, Bandar Utama but I overlooked it. It was raining cats and dog and we went to One Utama instead. Ye...sila la gelak. :P

The Banner where we gave our signature during the registration

My OOTD that day,
Decided for something simple so I opt for Kaftan
(the theme was Hari Raya)

We ended up arriving late (my bad), but just nice as the branch manager was about to give his welcoming speech. So I and joined the crowd to snap some photos while my two boys went to have their seats (we brought along our little hero too since twinnies were sleeping at home. kesian pulak Faaz Naqi tinggal sensorang).

Welcoming speech by Papa John's Branch Manager

Part of the bloggers who join the event. Eh, eh, the famous redmummy pun ada! :)

After the speech, came the moment we've been waiting for; the food! Hihi. :) Mushroom soups and the drinks were served first and later came the platter that consist of tuna pastries, chicken wings and chicken fingers. Although I love chicken wing, I must say that all of 'em were equally good. Nyums!

Yours truly about to start indulging the food. hihi :)

Semua sedap! 5 stars!

I thought it was the only appetizer, and since it was so sedap I ended up having more than half of the platter. Heeee ^_^ Nak, nak we were seated a bit secluded then the rest of the bloggers and families (because we came late, remember? :P). Lajuuuuu je makan...hahaha!

and when the second appetizer came, I was almost full. If I knew they will also serve the cheese sticks, I would have spare more space! :D

Crunchy base with cheese overloaded on the top. Nyum!

Looks like my two heroes were having a good time ;)

Soon, the signature Papa John's pizza made its way and without further due, all three of us enjoyed a piece each. Nyums!

Chicken Super Papa
consist of tender grilled chicken, chicken sausages, chicken roll, fresh mushrooms, green peppers, onions and black olives.

Uh uh, somebody really wallap his meal! hihi

While we were enjoying our meal halfway, Zandra from Nuffnang came to us and told us she had made some space for us to seat together with other bloggers on the other side. It was then that we were seated next to Ceera's family, her sister Kak Jem (@ viruspadu) and Fillanie. (semua otai-otai bloggers) It was nice meeting Ceera again, the first time we met was two years ago,  during a Nuffnang event at Janda Baik. Since our husband knew each other through football, they quickly got themselves occupied with some conversations...unlike us yang erm, a bit shy hehehe :D

In between the meals, we were invited to see a live demo on how Papa John's pizza are made from a glass window near the kitchen section...

After the demo, some of the bloggers who volunteered made their way to the kitchen and they were given chance to prepare a pizza by themselves! I believe it was fun, but I chose to stay back and enjoyed another batch of pizza that just came to our table....heee makan je kan :P

BBQ Chicken & Beef
consist of tender grilled chicken, beef bits and zesty onion combined with a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce
Sedap jugak plis! :)

While half of the crowd went into the kitchen area, we the bloggers who stayed took the chance to mingle with each other and of course, taking loads of photos :)

Me and Ceera

Me and the cheerful MamaTisya
Nice meeting you, dear! :)

After the pizza-making session came the game part. Bloggers were required to form into 3 groups and then played the "re-create the pizza" game. It was fun, especially seeing the behavior of some of the bloggers, while competing to submit their pizza. It was hilarious!

Briefing from Nuffnang

 havoc!! :)

After the game ended, we had the prize giving ceremony and the lucky draw. As usual, I was among the unlucky ones.. :P Before we called it a day, we got ourselves a goodie bag each and we also get to "tapau" the food on our table. Yippie!! Heeeee :D

Last but not least, we had a photo session with all the bloggers....

Us, the bloggers...

...and the photographers behind the scenes.
Thank you encik-encik suami sekelian. Hihihi :)

Us, that day. Thanks Ciput!
As usual, Faaz Naqi yang malu, won't co-operate :P

Us with our hero and heroin.
Faaz malu sebab awek cun duduk sebelah. hihi.
Anak dara awak cantik cam mak dia, Ceera.
Dahla rambut Keisha perang, dah macam anak mix plak :)

and our husband, the football buddies.
Sedondon plak aritu.
What a co-incidence

We had fun, and we truly enjoyed the food served that night. Thank you, Nuffnang, thank you Papa John's! It was a nice closure to our Raya feast :)

For pizza lover out there, Groupon has a great deal on Papa John's Pizza recently. Do check it out ya! :)
