Faaz 3rd Birthday

Praise to Allah SWT our Faaz Naqi has turned 3 years old earlier this month (09.01.2012) :). At first, we thought of having small family dine-out as a celebration but the planned changed when his grandparents (my in-laws) volunteer to do a small birthday party at USJ...lucky Faaz! ;) We had the birthday celebration on Sunday, 8th January 2011. The theme was: Angry Birds..

Most of the preparations were done by my in-laws including the guest list. The only thing I was in-charge of was the birthday theme as well as the birthday cake. Few months before approaching 3, Faaz has begun to understand about birthday and birthday celebration. Every time we celebrate a family member's birthday, he will asked when will be his turn and told us what he wanted for his birthday; balloons, birthday cake and presents! :) Because of this, although the party was very small I made an effort of doing a little bit of deco, to make the party more lively :)

I always admired all the creative and hardworking mommies who are so good when it comes to their children's birthday party deco. Some even did all out according to the themes..I'm impressed! With the commitment of taking care of two babies, time limitation, lack of creativity and a tight budget (hehe :P), I can only came out with these...

Faaz asked for a party hat but he was delighted when I bought him a birthday crown instead. He said, he's the king of the birthday...hehehe :)

Instead of the normal balloons, I opt for the angry birds balloons. Imagine how much attention I attracted as I walked all over Pyramid with those...demi Faaz ku sayang :D
Fadzil changed the thick thread that hold the balloons to thin invisible wires to make a floating angry bird effect ;)

Since it's a small party, we figured out casual look was the best for our children.
Faaz chose the Red Angry Bird t-shirt himself while the twins both in Orange Angry Birds rompers.

Seriously, the cake was one of the last thing that I ordered.
Been so occupied that I don't have time to surf the net for online bakery shop that can make a nice Angry Bird cake so when I saw some nice angry bird cakes at Cookie Box @ Empire, I quickly placed the order.
This time we opt for a 3D cake (fondant) + buttercream cuppies for something different.
I just let Sue design the cake with her creativity and voila! thanks Sue! :)

Everything is soo simple, right? Jadila for a small birthday party :) The best thing was, Faaz was so excited and showed appreciation on the small effort I made...

He was soo happy see the printed invitation card the day I brought it home that he ran towards the kitchen to see my mom, showed her the card and said, "Tok Mak, you must come to my birthday party, ok?" :)

Paling best, when he saw me decorating the living hall few hours before his birthday, he jumped with excitement and said, "You are shooo cute lah Mommy!" Awwwwwwhhhh *melting*

The party started at sharp 4pm with the presence of our close family and close family friends.

Sincere apologies dear friends for not inviting you guys to the party. InsyaAllah someday, when we finally move to our own place, we'll surely invite all of you to come and celebrate with us :). Twinnies were in deep sleep when we were about to cut the cake so we just left them to sleep...zZZ. That explained why there's only 3 of us in most of the photos... (not that we left them tau! :P)

The twins finally woke up while we were enjoying the food and the cake. Lucky me, they enjoyed the company from everyone that they did not asked for their milk2 instantly. So it's their turn to pose and pose while both of them were in a good mood! :)

That's pretty much how Faaz celebrated his 3rd birthday. Now that he's 3, we can see how much he has grown for the past years and we are so thankful for 'this gift', thank you, Allah. May Faaz continue to grow healthily, happily, wisely and may he be a good caliph on earth, insyaAllah.

This year, we bought a bike as Faaz's birthday present. I was skeptical at first as Faaz shown no interest in cycling his tricycle at home, worrying that he might not have the passion for the bike as well. I was wrong, with just 3x training (less than 2 weeks) with his Daddy, Faaz can now cycle on his own! Bravo son!! Cayalah Daddy!! :)

Before I ended this entry, Faaz wanted me to tell how thankful and happy he was to all uncles/aunts/cousins/friends who was kind enough to wish him "Happy Birthday" via our Facebook wall, twitter and this blog...and also thank you to family members who was present during the party. Faaz enjoyed all the toys!! :)

Approaching 3 Years

My Faaz Naqi has turn 3 years old recently and we had a small celebration at his grandparents house in Subang Jaya. Will share with you about his special day on next entry ;) Few days before his special day, I took a half-day leave to spend some quality time with my growing up boy...thank you to my mom and my sister who volunteered to babysit my twin babies. If not because of them, memang takde chance lah :)

Our activity? A bus and an LRT (train) ride. Faaz was almost 3 and yet he never had a ride of both. Ok, not quite...he had a really short experience of taking an LRT star from Jalan Ipoh to The Mall when we had to send our car to the workshop. I still remember how short the journey was, Faaz who was so excited to be in a "train" for the very first time wanted to stand on the seat to have a clearer view outside. As he was just standing, I told him that he had to come down that we were about to reach our destination. He was sooo blur! pity him :( Since then, I had no chance to bring him for a proper train experience...

At first, I just told him that "Mommy gonna bring Faaz for a ride on a train" and as expected he was excited! As I held his hand and coming out of the gate, he asked me why we need to walk to the "train" instead of drive to the LRT station. I told him, "Faaz will ride on a bus for the very first time!". His reaction?

Super-duper happy! :) Oh I just love to see that big grin! :)

By the way, that was my younger brother, Hazwan in the photo. Thanks adik for accompanying us to the bus stop and ensured your sister took the right bus (lama tak naik bas la katakan..hihihi).

It took us quite sometime before our bus came. Everytime a bus coming towards us Faaz will jumped and asked me and Hazwan weather that was our bus, without failed. Not a single sign of being fed-up of waiting. He was really looking forward for it :)

After waiting for almost 30 minutes, we finally had our ride on a bus. Thanks to my mother for lending me her RAPID card so it's much easier for me. Faaz need not to pay the fare :)

There was Faaz, seating and shying away at first on his seat...ready for a ride on a bus ;)

It was around 4.30 pm when we took off, the sun was still shining bright. Lucky I brought his shades along ( I have to everytime I brought mine otherwise sure kena bebel kenapa x bawak dia punya skali :P)...This photo was taken about 5 minutes after the bus has left the bus stop. Look at his expression, he was no more being shy!

Due to the hot weather, Faaz asked me for a drink the minute we arrived at Gombak LRT Station (previously known as LRT Putra). The place is now quite different from the place that I used to know. There's a construction going on, they are now building a 4 storey parking lot in front of the station. The LRT station itself also has a newer look; there's a new bus station in the middle of the parking lot and the LRT station, there's a proper Genting Highlands bus ticket counter and there's even a musolla at the LRT station. A whole lot improvement, well done! ;)

After we bought some drinks and snacks, we proceed to the counter. I just came to know that these days the LRT ticket/card is no more being used, instead they replaced it with tokens. Another new thing (to me)! We need not to wait longer for the LRT to arrive. As soon as the train reached the station, Faaz jumped with excitement :)

We were quite fortunate that the LRT was quiet empty that evening. As soon as the train moved, Faaz stood closely next to the window. On and off his cute mouth bubbling, questioning and describingall the things that he saw...riuh kami dua beranak. Hihi.. His favorite part was when the train went into the tunnel...excited! :)

Soon, we reached the destination - Jelatek LRT station. Faaz wanted to go and see his daddy played badminton at Dewan Serbaguna Dato' Keramat. Actually, we went there to hand in Fadzil his racket, which he accidentally left at home. Faaz was so excited as we entered the hall. It was his first time to enter a badminton court and see a live match. He was shy at first, as usual...decided to sit down and watch the game...

But after a while...the "active" side of him started to shine, especially when Fadzil entertained him and thought him how to play. Berpeluh-peluh gakla anak bujang I tu.. :)

After the match, we went to a restaurant in Ampang for dinner. Faaz was asleep before we reached the place. I guess he must have been too tired after having a short adventure that evening :) The next morning, as soon as he woke up, Faaz non-stop talking about his experience to his grandmother and aunty...well, I guess that shows he had fun on that day...glad to know that, son :)

My 4th January

4th January this year is almost the same as 4th January on previous years but what's special about it is that on 4th January this year, we we're at Gombak, my family house. I got to hug and thanked my mother for going through all the pain on delivering me into this world 31 years ago :)

The day of 4th January begun as early as 12am. I was breastfeeding Falisya when hubby who was busy playing Tap Zoo suddenly stopped and said to me,

"You know what have you did, Sayang?"

"Huh? What?" Puzzled me answered...

"You have just turned 31 years old! Happy Birthday Sayang!" He hugged and kissed my forehead :)

"Nak present!!" I tried my luck although I've already been given the present during my anniversary, the 2 in 1 gift.

"Your present is in your email. Check your mail." He said.

"Email?" I was puzzled again. Serious ke main-main dia ni??

When I checked my email, I saw this....

That morning, he drove me to work although we brought 2 cars to Gombak itself. Just for 4th January I got the privilege to be driven to work and am loving it! ;)

That night, we all went out for my birthday dinner (except my lil brother who was so busy studying for his exam). When being asked whether I wanted Western/Oriental/Japanese/Middle Eastern food that night, I answered, "Nasi (rice)". Hihi...had enough of steaks after few birthday celebrations on last December. Muak kot.

So we went to a place we never been before, Istana Bambu, (Bamboo Palace) a fine Malay restaurant situated in Jalan Hulu Klang, which is quite near to my mom's place. Fell in love with the padi field and the bamboo hut concept. With the lighting and cozy ambiance, it's peaceful and romantic!

We chose to sit on one of the bamboo huts overlooking the "padi field" pond to have some privacy. Faaz and Faiqa slept while we're on the way to this restaurant so it left only 4 of us with Falisya to enjoy the meal.

According to reviews, this restaurant is famous for its 2 special dishes:

1) Fried Crispy Beef

2) Fried squid with salted egg

A must try they said! ;)

And what we ordered that night was (clockwise), Butter Sauce Crab, Kailan with Salted Fish, Egg Fu Yong with crabmeat, Lemon Chicken and the famous Fried Crispy Beef. Although I really wanted to try out the signature squid dish, I had to let it go. I ate deep fried squid the other day and Falisya got rashes all over her hand...I guess she inherit the allergies from me T_T

All I can say that the food we ordered that night were all equally good and recommended. Sgt sedap! Check out their website for full menu (we ordered less spicy food because of Faaz skali dia tido daaaa :P).

Falisya was tired as we were about to finish our meal. Lately, Falisya refused EBM that I have to direct BF her whenever I'm around. Lucky us this time that we were seated in a private hut that I have no problem to feed her comfortably...

As soon as Falisya's asleep, Faiqa woke up.

Faaz was the last, he only woke up when we reached back home, just nice when we're about to have the cake cutting session. Talking about the cake, a funny incident happened on 4th January's evening. As usual, whenever I came back from work, I will take my cooler bag straight to the kitchen and store my EBM in the fridge. That day, I was rushing to get ready for the dinner so without thinking of anything I simply run to the fridge and opened it. My mom was there, and her face expression changed when she saw me opened the fridge. I was stunned too when I saw....a birthday cake inside the fridge! Upsie!! Haha...sorry! :P Quickly I acted as if I didn't notice the huge square box and quickly close the fridge door after storing my EBM. You should see the look on Mak's face..it was priceless! Hahaha!

So that night, when hubby came from the kitchen and brought the the cake and said, "Surprise!!", I had to act as if I was...heeee, sian En.Suami penat2 balik awal from me to buy the cake and hide it :)

Faaz who was so excited (No, not because it was my birthday. He was excited because he knew that after my birthday will be his birthday! :D), requested to cut the cake...so I gave him the honor after we both blew my candles :)

It was about 30 minutes left before 4th January close it's curtain this year, so I decided to try out my luck again (ahaha).

"My present yang?" I asked Fadzil.

"Tu, yang you pegang tu kan your birthday present." He said pointing to my 4s.

"Ala, nak yg lain..." I said (teasing him)

"I gave you this morning what. Dah download lum?" He asked.

"Dah...tapi that was E-gift. I want a real gift." I said (teasing and injecting some pressure. eheh!).

He then left to the kitchen and came back with this...

Yay!! Another present! Happy! :)

"Don't be so happy, see first what is it" he said to me.

"I don't care what's inside, as long as I got a gift I am more than happy! :)" I said and it's true. I don't mind having another chocolate again :)

I smiled widely upon opening my gift. No, it was not another set of Ferrero Rosher, it's the Armor Metal Hybrid Case for my 4s. Nice :) Fadzil certainly knew me quite well eh, kalau tak takkan dah standby hadiah awal2. Mesti dah boleh teka wife dia ni nak jugak mintak hadiah..ahahaha! :P

Thank you darling, you've certainly made my 4th January special again this year.

Oh well, that's pretty much how my 4th January this year :)

Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah for making my heartbeat still beating till this very moment.

Two days ago, my lil twinnies turned 6 months old...

They have started solid food and in no time, they'll crawl and walk! :)

And today, my lil boy turned 3 years old...

He has mastered the art of talking in English very well, daily vocab includes; "on top of that" and "perhaps", and in no time he'll ride a bike and go to playschool!

Oh my, little angels of mine has grown up so fast!

Assalamualaikum and Hello dear readers,

Happy New Year 2012 and Happy 1st Working day for those who are not on leave today. How's your 'Tuesday Blues' so far? Mine? Missed my children so very much! :)

As new year is starting, I am sure new resolutions, new target has been listed to be achieved by year end. Me too, have a few targets myself...hopefully with Allah SWT will I can achieve it, insyaAllah :)

Talking about new year, Fadzil's niece has ventured into a bakery business recently...cuppies to be exact. Tasted some of her 'air tangan' recently at her house and I must say this young lady is talented. Not only it looks cute, its tasty! ;)

His 30th Birthday

Pre-celebration with the family..

Since my other half's birthday this year fell on Monday, we had a small makan-makan with the family on the previous day (Sunday). We had our lunch at The Colosseum, Kuala Lumpur. This was my first time to dine in here. I had one of the in-house specialty, chicken chop with mushroom gravy...nyum!

The kids were behaving well at first, alhamdulillah. It made it easier for us to enjoy our meal. Faaz Naqi also have a big appetite that day, something that is fluctuating these days.

She slept most of the time we spent at the restaurant! :)

Falisya on the other way, was the opposite.

She can't sit still in her carrier and as soon as we were about to finish our meal, she screamed to be carried...hehe :)

The surprise...

I love surprises and I love to throw surprises to the people I care, especially my loved ones :) Since the first year I got married with my husband, I surprised him almost every year on his born day...man, it's fun!! :)

During the 1st year of marriage, I surprised him on his born day by sending a bouquet of roses and a birthday cake via florist delivery to his office. Just love to hear his reaction over the phone upon receiving the gifts..hihi. On the 2nd year of our marriage, his birthday fell on a weekend so I planned of a small and simple surprise party for him with the help of his cousin, nephew and niece. You can read about it here :) However, I skipped the surprise "ritual" last year. It wouldn't be fun if it's continuous every year, aite? It will be something predictable instead... :)

So this year, I came up with the surprise...again! hihi (obviously I can't stay out of surprise that long :P). Coincidentally on his birthday, I have a training to attend at KLCC Convention Centre, very close to his office. It was a last-minute-kind of surprise.

That very night, at 12am I wished him "Happy Birthday" and place the birthday card near him (he was already asleep at that time). I did mentioned in the card for him to get ready as I will keep him surprised the whole day. Hehe, saja kasi gempak and let him keep on guessing. Talking about playing psychology.. :P

The surprise that I've plan wouldn't work out in the first place if not because I was lucky to have an understanding and sporting trainer, Mr. Joshua. I was excused earlier for lunch so I had the chance to secure a place in Chilli's KLCC (Fadzil's favourite restaurant) for our birthday lunch-date before the crowd start to come and packed the whole restaurant..

Fadzil thought it was pretty much the surprise that I told him. But when I didn't hand in any gift to him after the lunch, he was wondering what could be the next surprise. He thought I would made a visit to his office but as hours passed by and there was no sign of me, he just forget about it.

Yes! he did think what I wanted to do but what he didn't know was that I waited till it the office hour was almost finished. I did not want to bother him and his colleagues while they were busy working. Again, my trainer excused me to finish my training earlier. My training partners were all very supportive too and I thanked them for their understanding. I went to buy a birthday cake and the gift, and rushed to his office. By 4.30pm I was already there. Just to ensure that he was at his place at that time, I texted him to check an information from a website for me, konon2 to use for my training material..hehe.

So yeah, my surprise for him this year was successful...mission accomplished! :) Had the cake cutting with his colleagues at the lounge area of their office. It was nice to meet some of the familiar faces and to get to know new faces. Especially the nice Kak Ana who took some photo of us at the lounge..siap suruh posing belakangkan KL tower and KLCC twin tower lagi. Thank you akak :)

The Anniversary

It's been a while since my last post and as usual I blamed it on my hectic life :) Currently, we're staying in my mom's place..let the children be close their Tok Mak for a while. It's nice to be able to stay away from the Federal Jam, and since a week ago, DUKE highway has become my favourite highway. I can go to work from Gombak to PJ in less than 30 mins! How cool is that?! ;)

As you know, last 15th December me and Fadzil celebrated our 4th year of anniversary. The first two years of our marriage, we celebrated it with candle light dinner at posh, romantic restaurants. For the 3rd year of marriage, we did not celebrated our anniversary like the usual. Enough by just simple wished and kisses. We were so busy of my SIL's wedding preparation and I was sooo not in the mood to indulge into food, let alone fancy food. I was at my 1st trimester of pregnancy with the twins...

This year, we made a point to celebrate our anniversary differently with something fun and adventurous was on our mind. Unfortunately, it was almost impossible to achieve it due to our current commitment. Last minute, with God's will we managed to spend time just the two of us on our special date despite all the hurdles that came on our way...only Him know how thankful I was for that. Feel like ages since we last spent time together or going on a date!

Sometimes, what we planned may not turned out the way we wanted. What matter the most, we spent it together with our loved one...itu yg penting kan? ;) What we've planned did not came to reality as the weather was not on our side. We ended up spending our precious time together mostly on a road trip with 4 different pit stop; Sepang GoldCoast - Morib - MBO Cinema - TGIF. Before we move on to the 3rd pit stop to watch an awesome movie: MI - Ghost Protocol, Fadzil handed me a surprise gift...

He handed me a red garbera daisy which made me laugh the minute I saw it (cause it was taken from our room's vase..haha!) and a gift which I knew what's inside. Boleh teka lah! ;) It was a funny moment, seeing him with his "malu-malu" look when he handed me the gift. LOL! :D

No, it was not the iPhone4s like most of you had guessed. It was actually my most favourite chocolate in the whole wide world...miss Ferrero Rocher :D I knew what it was because I've always told Fadzil that flower + chocolate are great combination and I would never ever turn down a gift like that. Hihi :)

However, I did get the Apple's latest phone as a wedding anniversary + advance birthday present from dear hubby but on the next day. Fadzil had pre-booked the phone earlier and we didn't expect that it will be out in Malaysia on our wedding anniversary date. So when Maxis invited him to get the phone on the launching date, he chose the next day instead.

Went to KL Convention Center to get my pressie.

Heads up to Maxis for organizing such a smooth event. It only took me less than 30 minutes to get my phone from registration, payment, collecting the phone and activating it. There were live bands, magic show and some light refreshments.

Oh, in case you are wondering what I gave to my hubby as our anniversary gift? Well, only an anniversary card, hugs, kisses, and love (cewah! :P). Very simple. I have a better and bigger surprise for him on his born-day, which was 3 days away from the anniversary date. Want to know what's my surprise for him this year? Will tell you in the next entry... ;)

Weekend Getaway: Bukit Tinggi Day #2

Although we have so many plans for day#2, we started off our day not-so-early in the morning. We let the babies set our time instead of us and the plans goes from there. I hate to wake up my children in the middle of their sleep, after all this was supposed to be a relaxing holiday, not a stressful one! ;)

As soon as the babies and Faaz woke up, we got them ready. Alhamdulillah, there were no trace of fever on Faaz. We were relieved. We then headed to Le Blason, to have our complimentary breakfast. The hotel staffs were so friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed the buffet breakfast (especially when it comes to French pastries and confectionery, nyum!)..thanks to them for playing with the twins :)

Faaz Naqi was so ready to have fun!

With full stomachs, we walked towards the main entrance of Colmar. While waiting for the shuttle to take us to places within Bukit Tinggi, we spent some time there. Fadzil brought Faaz down to the small lake where the swans and the fishes swims. They brought together the food to feed them, which was bought from a souvenir shop there last night. Too bad I can't join my boys...I had to take care the babies in the stroller :)

The shuttle finally arrived, and together with other patrons we hopped in. It was quite a hassle to be frank that each of us had to carry a baby and at the same time took care of our Faaz. The most disappointing thing was they don't allow us to carry our stroller with us, saying that it couldn't fit into the shuttle and there will be too many steps at the Japanese Village (Helllooo! I've been there before and I know la how to manage the strollers)...phhft! Nevertheless, we just abide as we didn't want to create any scene and ruined Faaz's excitement of riding a shutter. Tell you, that was the first and the last for him! We decided to go with our own car for the next destination. Senang!

Faaz was blur the minute the shuttle dropped us off at the pit stop. There was nothing there to view. We then told him that we need to climb up in order to go to the Japanese Village and the Botanical Garden. We were worried at first that Faaz will wanting his Daddy to carry him up (how on earth I can walk further up with two babies?!)...lucky he's willing to walk. In fact, he did run on and off. I guess the fever has totally gone off. He was so active and full of energy! :) Well, it was a GREAT workout for me and Fadzil to climb up until we reached the destination. After catching up our breath, we did a little bit of sight-seeing and took some photos. Lucky us, there were this group of tourist from Japan that was so fascinated by the twins that they offered us to take some family photos. If not because of them, there will be none! Haha...

It was another 'adventure' of bringing the kids down to the pit stop. Alhamdulillah, it was a smooth one, except that we had to stop here and there, when we bumped into people who would love to see and taking photos of our little 'superstars'...who else if not the twins :) We went back to Colmar and it was almost 12pm, the time for checking out. So we went back to our room, freshen up and packed our things. After settled with the checkout, we took some photos for memories before heading to the car park.

The next destination was the Mini Animal Park. First, we went to the Rabbit Park. Here, we got the chance to be up, close and personal with the rabbits. It was fun although from the photos you can easily tell how much I was, uh...urm...a bit 'shy' to this creature :P They were really friendly and cute! Rasa nak peluk tapi apakan daya...like I said, I was a bit "shy" hik!

Next, it was Faaz's turn to meet and greet the donkeys. Did you know what was his first words upon reaching the place?

"Daddy, what's this smell?" while doing a sour face expression. Haha! :P So you can guess how long he spent the time there :D

There were playgrounds, outdoor and indoor for the kids too at the park where they can choose to play. My boy? He enjoyed both. We actually spent almost an hour there just to let Faaz have some fun. In the meantime, I took the chance to rest with the twinnies while hubby busy supervised Faaz and took a lot of photos. I must say most of them is impressive! It really showed how much fun Faaz have that day :) I guess the twinnies were really enjoying the nice weather at Bukit Tinggi. They were sleeping most of the time..either in the carriers, or strollers. Senang mommy! Hehehe :)

Soon it was almost 3pm. It was time to bid goodbye to Bukit Tinggi. We headed back to KL, made a pit stop to Mid Valley to have our late lunch and then went back to Subang Jaya. Overall, it was a fun weekend getaway. Faaz had recovered quite fast, the twins were behaving very well, and the weather was good. It was a stress-free holiday. To Mr. Hubby, travel with two babies was not that bad, huh?. Alhamdulillah we've survived. We've been a good team, Sayang! Let's do this again in future, shall we? *wink*

Weekend Getaway: Bukit Tinggi Day #1

The first thing we did upon checking in into our room was to have some rest. The babies were the first priority, they were freshen up, fed and put to sleep while their big brother was resting and playing with his toy cars. Rain started to pour...

After an hour, there was no sign of the rain to stopped. Faaz, whom already bored to stay in been bugging us to go out. Worried that he might ended up with fever again, we decided to bring him to play in the indoor playroom for kids. There were a lot of rides to be chose but being a fan of cars, Faaz chose to play with a car for 3 times before switching to a train, and ride on it twice. I even had a chance to hop in inside the car as well...it's huge! :P Oh ya, you need to purchase the tokens in order for your kids to enjoy the rides. The tokens are quite expensive here, 2 tokens = RM5. For Faaz's 5 rides, it cost us almost RM15!

After he got bored with the rides, we made a move to the next room; the teen's playroom. It's me and Fadzil who got excited this time...hihi. Since the twins were still sleeping (in their stroller), we took the chance to enjoy some of the games ourselves. Man, it was fun! :D

The cost of token for games here is the same, but it cost you twice to play each games (2 tokens for each game). Since Faaz didn't know yet how to play, he just tag along with us each time we play. Itu pun dia dah happy giler, as if he was the one who won the game! :P Soon, the rain had stopped and it was almost to Maghrib Prayer so we made a move to our room to freshen up and had our prayers.

We went out again, this time to the market square. We stopped at the center stage. They were having a magic show..

Faaz whom obviously was sleepy and tired did not bother much to watch the show. Instead, he was busy looking at people who passed him by. We then continue to walk further, to find a nice restaurant to have our dinner. There are few restaurants to chose from, with different types of food served. Among them includes:

La Cigogne - serve French cuisine
La Flamme - serve pastries, pastas and pizzas. (quite a hit at dinner time, and most of the tables having either pasta or pizza)
La Boulangerie - serve pastries, cakes, sandwiches.
Le Blason - serving Malaysian and International cuisine. They offered buffet for dinner with lots of variaties to choose from.
Le Poulet Roti - Serving western cuisine, to be exact it tends to mirror Kenny Rogers Restaurant.

At first, we wanted to go to La Flamme for dinner but it was too crowded. As we were not keen to wait (since Faaz already asleep that I have to carry Falisya in order for him to have her place in the stroller), we finally went to Le Poulet Roti instead.

Only 3 of us who stayed awake...the rest were already in lalaland :)

After dinner, we decided to stroll all the way to the other end while enjoying the cool night breeze before calling it a day. We slept early that night, and have a good rest as a preparation for the next day activities that sure need a lot of extra energy!

Weekend Getaway: Bukit Tinggi

We did not celebrated Aidiladha this year. My family went back to Johor while my in-laws went for a holiday. Wanted to follow either of them, but we were still skeptical and have lack of confidence to travel far with the twins since they are still small. So we decided to spend the long weekend by ourselves..

I was so stressed lately and I need a vacation very badly! I need a fresh air to breath! Hubby agreed too so finally, after a series of discussion we decided to go for a weekend getaway, somewhere near the city center. After considering few locations, we finally decided to go to Bukit Tinggi (BT) since it's only a 45mins journey from Gombak ;)

We were all pretty excited and looking forward for the getaway although I've been to BT with my family before I got married. Did you know that me and Fadzil never had our family (as in nucleus family) vacation before? The only time we had vacation ourselves were during our honeymoons and the trip to Norway. Not a chance since we became a parent. Besides that, this was the first time we travel with the twins. It was the benchmark whether we'll ready for vacations/travelling with them. Nervous and excited at the same time! The verdict? I'll tell you when I wrapped up this short holiday entry...

We can only plan...but everything is in God's hand. Two days before the trip, Faaz Naqi fell ill. He had a high fever, added with cough and flu as compliments. It was sad that the day before the trip he did not show any improvement, thus a big chance to say "bye-bye" to the trip. But, it was sadder to see my lil hero was weak and cranky...poor lil boy :( On the morning that we were supposed to depart, Faaz was still having fever, but it was mild. He was active than the day before too. Finally, around 11 am we decided to continue with our plan hoping that by noon Faaz condition will be better. If let say its the other way round, we will go back to home the very same day. As quickly as I can, I packed the bags for all five of us and get the kids ready. We started our journey after Zuhr Prayer...

Twins were wide awake, but not cranky. They were in the mood to play after the afternoon feed..

Faaz on the other hand was otherwise; cranky that we had to cover his car seat with "kain batik" (in case he continue to vomit), and the fact that he had to wear the cool fever patch :P

Alhamdulillah, Faaz was behaving better as the car started to move. We made a pit stop to McDonalds in between the journey and 'tapau-ed' some food for lunch and to bring up to BT. Since the traffic was heavy as we entered the highway (it was expected), we had our lunch in the car, during the journey. The 45 mins journey ended up to be almost a 2hours journey due to the massive jam. We arrived at Colemar Tropicale at 3pm, just in time for the check in.

The good thing was, Faaz's temperature has normalized when we arrived there but the bad thing was, he vomited the minute our car entered the hotel's carpark. Since we already prepared for the situation, minimum cleaning was required...*phew*. After changing Faaz's attire, we went up to the lobby to check-in. The weather was just nice, bright, cool and windy...tiba-tiba teringat time pegi Oslo dulu... :)

Alhamdulillah, it didn't took us that long to get our room keys. We had chose to stay in a One Bedroom Suite, thus we had to walk to the end of the resort to our block; Euphorbia. It is situated near the swimming pool and it was a bit secluded from the noisy Market Square and the stage. Just perfect! Oh ya, we did stopped here and there along the way, taking photos and having our own sweet time. No rush...this was the kind of holiday that I want! ;)

Faaz's mood changed instantly the minute we entered the room, especially the bedroom. He kept on asking us why there's a "curtain" around the bed...hihihi. :)

The room is quite spacious for five of us; it consist of one living hall with flat screen tv, a dining area, a kitchen with complete utilities, a bedroom, and a spacious bathroom consist of a wet and dry section (where the dressing table is situated). Let me give you a tour on how the room looks like...

Like I mentioned earlier, our room's view was towards the swimming pool. It was supposed to be something fun especially for Faaz since he was soo looking forward to swim but it ended up being something sad for him. Heavy heartedly, we had to prevent him from that activity because of his condition. Kesian sangat :'(

Media Launch : DUGRO Fruit & Veg

I am a milk lover. In fact, milk was my prime source of food until I was 6 years old. Hihi, kinda embarrassing when my mom told me that I would rushed into the house the minute my kindy school bus sent me home at noon, looking for only one thing; my milk bottle! :D (well, there goes my deep secret! :P).

Mom was worried that I showed no sign of stopping that she had to bring me to see a Pediatrician. She was relieved that the Doctor told her that there's nothing wrong with it as milk is a good source of food as well, especially for growing kids. According to him, eventually I will change this behaviour and enjoy more food. That is why I have no worries now that my son is following my footstep. He too, enjoyed milk more than food. The only thing that I need to worry about is to ensure that his daily intake, especially the milk contains balance nutrients that his body need. The challenge so far is to make him eat vegetables and fruits. I don't know what went wrong, Faaz loves fruits especially when he was a baby but now that he is a toddler, he refused to eat most of the veg I cooked or the fruits I served. Sometimes, he do get constipation :(

So when Nuffnang invited me to attend Dumex Dugro Fruit & Veg Media Launch last week, I was excited. Especially when I get to know that Dumex, one of the leading brand in milk was going to launch it's latest innovation product with a keyword that might solve my problem; FRUIT & VEG! ;) The event was held at Sultan Ballroom, Le Meridian Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Lucky me, my mommy blogger friend, MommyNadia was also invited to the event so we decided to go to the event together. We arrived on time for the registration. After filling in details and got ourselves a goodie bag each, we proceed to have our breakfast at the lounge area :)

Since this event was about Dumex Dugro, milk was also served that morning. Of course without hesitant yours truly went to the milk booth go get the samples. Instead of one cup, I drank about 6 cups of Dugro Fruits & Vege as well as Dumil Mama milk! Can't help myself tho, they're delicious!

The event started off with the opening and safety briefing followed by a first-time screening of Dumex's special advertisement. It was a touching short story of a mother and son relationship, reminded me of myself and my Faaz..It was a brilliant ad, it almost made me in tears :)

It's definitely a must see advert.

Next was the opening address by Ms Toni Brendish, the Managing Director of Danone Dumex Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. She explained to us about their latest product. According to her, the new formulation is in line with Dumex's effort to continuously nourish the future generation. In support to the physical and mental development of a growing child, they infuse their growing-up milk with fruits and vegetables extract of which helps a lot in terms of promoting a healthy digestive system. Sounds perfect for Faaz's problem, don't you think so? ;) The speech ended with the official launching of Dumex Dugro Fruits & Veg.

The next agenda was the presentation by Ms Leong Oi Po, their R&D Director. In this presentation, she further explained to us about the new products of Dumex Dugro. Basically, there are 3 major innovations of Dumex Dugro:

What make it interesting was the presence of the "little ambassadors" of Dumex Dugro. It was very entertaining to see the kids in action. So cute! :)

What I love most when it comes to attending events via Nuffnang is the chance to meet up and get to know other bloggers (especially those who are well known) as well as to meet the Nuffies staff in person :)

I get to meet Beautifulnara & his lovely wife in person during this event. Love to read his blog to get updated on what's going on in the local entertainment world. Nara posing pun dah macam artis dah, boleh jadi Dumil Mama ambassador dah nie..hihi :)

Besides MommyNadia, my lovely blogger friends madammondoq and Thara Sofian were also presence that day. It was nice to be able to catch up with the ladies :)

Jigsaw Puzzles For Kids

I am a big fan of Jigsaw Puzzles since I was a little girl, thanks to my mom for introducing it to me. During my childhood, I own quite a number of puzzles but my all time favourite will be my first Puzzle, the Bambi Puzzles. Google the Bambi just now and I got all excited when I found this picture...

As I grew up, the interest keep on going but with an exception...I don't fancy jigsaw puzzle in landscape, panoramic view or anything related. My interest is only for cartoons and cute photos. Senang cerita, I love kids jigsaw puzzle better....hehehe. Don't get me wrong, not that I don't love the challenge of putting up a 1000pcs of a monumen puzzles, it's just that I get easily bored. But with kids jigsaw puzzle, it gives me energy, it get me excited and happy..I guess it's part of the inner child in me :P

Mommies, you know that Jigsaw Puzzles are good for brain development especially for kids?

-Jigsaw Puzzles encourages logical thinking because it includes putting the related pieces together to form a complete picture

-Puzzles make us alert, increases concentration, expand the creativity

-Looking on the image constantly help to practise visualisation which is good for mental activity

-Brain produces a chemical known as dopamine which is crucial for learning and memory. The production of this chemical increases in the brain at the time when it is engaged in solving the jigsaw puzzle

-Study shown that playing jigsaw puzzle can lower heart rate, breath rate, and blood pressure

Now that I have children, I am more than happy to share the excitement, the happiness and the fun of playing the jigsaw puzzle (obviously with Faaz la kan since twinnies is sooooooo small!). I started off him with a simple jigsaw puzzle when he was 1 and half year old, I think it only consist of 9pcs of puzzles but too bad, he wasn't ready and did not show any interest at all. So I waited, and waited till the right time comes...

Finally now, at the age of 2 years old he showed the interest in it. Particularly on the Angry Birds Puzzles. So far there are 3 in his collections and he loves to switch playing with those puzzles. We taught him and guide him to play the puzzle only twice for each photo and walla, Faaz managed to play with it alone the 3rd time. It was amazing and I was so proud of him! ;)

Been wanting to capture him playing with the puzzles but it's always either the camera was upstairs in the room or I was busy with the twins to record it. Finally, last Friday I managed to capture him playing with one of his jigsaw puzzle...but it was not the best time. Faaz was sleepy so by the end of solving the puzzle he got fed up and cranky..hehe.

Anyway, here's the living proof of my Faaz solving a jigsaw puzzle...enjoy! ;)

It's Time For Art Again!

If you follow my blog closely, I am sure you'll notice how Faaz is so into arts. That includes drawing, painting, coloring and craft arts. Usually, me and Faaz will do the painting activity at least twice a month as Faaz loves to play with water color. However, these days its hard to find for this and I feel guilty towards my son :(

Last Friday, I went to a stationary shop in Taipan USJ. Made my way through one of the section when my eyes caught something interesting.....

It's the Sun Catcher Photo Frame Kit! What is more interesting to me is that it's a non-toxic kit, and suitable for kids at 3 years old and above. Since Faaz will be 3 years old in January next year (2 months left to go ;) ), I think he has no problem to do this activity. I chose the design that I wanted (there are 3 designs in this package) and paid the item at the cashier.

For RM12.90, you'll get 8 different colors of paints, a brush and of course an empty sun catcher photo frame. Not bad huh? ;)

As expected, Faaz was excited and anxious when I showed him the kit that it was the first thing he asked when he woke up the very next morning. So right after freshen him up and made him ate his breakfast, I brought him to the front porch to start this art project :)

Faaz was kinda clingy to me that morning that he wanted to paint together with me, on my lap. I don't mind at all, I understand that sometimes, he too wanted to be pampered as much as his little sisters. After all, he is just a 2 year old boy, whom obviously still need much attention from his parents :) The only drawback was...it's hard to snap photos from clear angle since I was using our DHC H6 which obviously is bulky :P

I hold, and he painted...we started off with the dots on the giraffe's body ;)

Next was coloring the sun since it's also YELLOW in color! ;)

After half an hour painting with patience, the "masterpiece" finally completed. Now what we have to do was to dry it off under the hot sun for 4 hours!

Spot some smudge between the colors? Well, that's definitely came from Faaz's hand ;)

The frame is currently resides in our bedroom (since Faaz did not have his own room yet). Next step is to develop a photo of Faaz to make it complete. It was an interesting art project but it kinda make your kid tired cause it took some patience and concentration to paint it. A little bit mistake or a little drop of paint into the unwanted area caused smudge to the frame. But for a 2 year old, who cares about the smudge yeah? Faaz je la, a bit of perfectionist (ikut sape la tuh? :P)...wanted to be too cautious till he surrendered after it was 80% painted..

"Faaz lazy la mommy. Mommy finish it la. Then mommy fix that one" while pointing to the smudge areas...

Hihi...comel betul la Faaz ni. Guwam mommy!

FYI, Faaz is currently away, following his grandparents to Kedah and Penang from today onwards, for 5 days. Mommy and Daddy is soo gonna miss your bubbly mouth talking non-stop, son. The house is pretty silent without your voice. And I am sure your sisters too, misses to play with you. Have a safe trip, enjoy yourself and be a good grandchild to your Nana & Nani.

When I hugged him and told him that I'll miss him, he replied with,

"I layyou (love you) cute, cutest Mommy!" "Don't worry k, Faaz go Penang and play sand castle then Faaz come back home"..

Dinner at Al-Amar

During the last day of Aidiladha leave, we went to Pavilion for dinner. It's been a while since we last dine in at a posh restaurant and when Fadzil offered to treat me and the kids, I opt for Middle Eastern food. We finally decided to dine at Al-Amar Lebanese Cuisine Restaurant. Al-Amar is a 4 star restaurant situated at Level 6 of Pavilion. The atmosphere inside is nice, warm and cozy. A bit steep on the price side but worth with the taste of the food we had!

For that night, with no special occasion we dressed up decently in black and red theme: Daddy and twinnies in red, while Mommy and Faaz in black. And just to have fun, I tried to wear my scarf differently, feeling Middle Eastern sket and put on some makeup...hihi :) It's nice that we got to do this once a while. Since we have 3 kids around, there's always a rush when it comes to getting ready for outings. Sometimes, I even forget to put on my lipstick sebab rushing punya pasal :P

Mince RAW lamb meat? gulp! Do you dare to eat?!

That night, as usual we ordered Lentil Soup as appetizer. It is a mixed of grinded lentils, potatoes and onions, served with grilled Lebanese bread and lemon wedges. Faaz favourite ;)

Fadzil chose the Oriental dish; Lamb Kabbseh - Steamed marinated lamb served with fragrant basmati rice cooked with tomato and spices, served with special sauce.

Quite tasty if you eat it as a combination, but a bit too flat if you eat the rice without the special sauce. I prefer Al-Rawsha's better...

As for me, I'll go for my usual choice when it comes to Middle Eastern food. Either grilled or Kebabs! :) That night I opt for Kebab so I had Beef Chawarma Platter which consist of Beef Chawarma, served with tarator sauce, fries and condiments. Served with Lebanese bread as well... Delicious! I recommend this dish ;)

Alhamdulillah, dinner that night was cozy. The kids were all behaving well and cheerful especially Faaz, so in the mood to pose. The twins had their milk while we were waiting for the food to arrive and fell asleep right after. Good girls! :)

I am currently upset, stressed and a bit demotivated to do my work due to an incident that happened this morning (work related issue). Seriously, if a mall is situated near this office I would have just leave, take a 1/2 day off and go shopping instead. Shopping always work to lift up my spirit and I am sure it does the same to you too, ladies..yes? no?

Since I have no choice but to go through another few more hours before I can call it a day, I have to find something that can cheer me up, a bit at least. First thing first, called my other half to share my disappointment and it does made me relieved. Thank you my dear. Still, the stress and lack of interest to do work is still there. They said, "laughter is the best medicine"....

So instead of searching for funny jokes/stories over the net, I looked at the photo collections inside my external drive....and I found these....

Next time, if you are caught in a situation like me, perhaps you can look back into your photo album. You may be surprised that some photos can actually be a remedy to your sorrow heart / cheer you up. Well, at least it worked on me! :)

Feel so much better now so I better continue my work. Don't want to pile up the task, or I will ended up staying up till late hours on Friday night. No! No! No!

Twinnies 3rd Month Checkup

Earlier this month, we went to SDMC Subang Jaya for the twinnies monthly checkup with their Pediatrician, Dr. Ali Azman Minhaj (whom is also Faaz's Pediatrician :). For those who didn't know, Dr. Ali is a very senior Dr. in SJMC. He has worked with the hospital for more than 25 years, just like my favourite gynea, Dr. Siti :). Very experinced, warm, friendly and funny I must say...

Although the appointment was scheduled at 10.30am, I had started to get all three of my children ready as early as 8.00am so that I can breastfeed the twins between 9.00-10.00am without having the need to rush. We went out at 10.00am and reached SDMC by 10.15am...just nice!

Faaz glued to the TV, watching cartoon over the Disney Channel while we were waiting for our turn to see the Dr.

As usual, after done with the registration, we went straight to Dr. Ali's clinic for weight and height measurements...something that I look forward to for every checkup. Anxious to know how much weight they have increased and how tall are they :) Alhamdulillah, for the third month checkup, both babies has reached 5kg each with Falisya overtook Faiqa's weight by 0.03kg:

Falisya Nayla: 5.29kg

In terms of height, both are now at 60cm and 61cm height with Faiqa overtook Falisya by 1cm...hihi, very close :)

Soon, it was our turn to see Dr. Ali and it was time for both girls to get their 2nd Triple Antigen Vaccination. If during the first session when they were 1month old both babies cried when being injected, this time alhamdulillah, both babies were calm and relax. No more crying...yay! I guess the chubby thighs eliminate the pain :P

In case you are not aware, Triple Antigen Vaccination is also know as DPT, which is a combination of Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus vaccines. These vaccines, stimulates the production of antibodies to immunize the body against the causative agents of the 3 viruses above. Usually, the time interval for each injection are as below:

1 to 2 months : 1st injection

3 to 4 months : 2nd injection

4 to 5 months : 3rd injection

(Note: The injections should be given at intervals of not less than 1 month and preferably not more than 3 months apart)

As Falisya was busy playing with her hand on the stroller, I managed to snap few shots of Faiqa receiving her jabs...

Finally, the "moment" has come...Faiqa was so calm, Dr. Ali was impressed! ;)

When the twins were being injected the first time, Faaz was keen to see. Being a very concern big brother, he stand next to each baby and tried to comfort them. But it was different this time. He was so busy with his own activity.....

The same goes with little miss Falisya. She enjoyed lying on the patient's bed and was relaxed when given the jab. She also to have a quick conversation with Dr. Ali, smiling all the way. :)

The whole procedure took us almost 20 minutes. Dr. Ali prescribed us with PCM, just in case. We went to Sunway Pyramid afterwards for lunch and we gave PCM to the twins as a precautions. Alhamdulillah, they were fine and had no fever.

Throughout this 3 months, twinnies have achieved all the common milestones for a 3 months old baby. Some, they accomplished together on the very same day while some are accomplished by one before another catching up. Not much difference in terms of gap..it's only by 1 or 2 days apart. Alhamdulillah, mommy is so proud of you two! :)

At 3 months old, Faiqa and Falisy now can...

Raise head and chest when lying on stomach,

Support upper body with arms when lying on stomach,

Stretch legs out and kick when lying on stomach or back (Falisya especially!),

Push down on legs when standing on a firm surface,

Open and close hands,

Bring hands to mouth (they do this a lot! habis kot 10 jari semua masuk mulut! :P)

Grab and shake hand toys,

Follow moving object with eyes,

Watch faces closely,

Recognize familiar objects and people from a distance, (tak boleh ternampak mommy...mmg menjerit dua2 mintak angkat. confirm! :D)

Start using hands and eyes in coordination,

Begin to babble and to imitate some sounds (they do this a lot too...very, very cute!),

Smile at the sound of parents' voices, (melapang-lapang!)

Enjoy playing with others (they love to play with each other :)

Happy Monster Family???

Have you came across or familiar with Happy Monster Band?

Well, if you have a child who loves to watch cartoon on Disney Junior channel (or perhaps yourself? :D), I am sure you are familiar with this cartoon.

I've been introduced to this cartoon by Faaz, of course...who else conquering the cartoon channels in Astro if not him :P. Unlike the scary looking monsters, these monsters are happy monsters who loves to sing and play musical instruments!

This cartoon is not among his favourite (at least that's what I thought...), since Faaz only watch them by chances...if it happens to show during his watching cartoon time. It is not a type of cartoon that he's looking forward to watch that he knows what time it will be shown on TV.

Recently, Faaz loves to draw. Usually he draws with pencil & paper or whiteboard or using the magnetic whiteboard. One night, while we were all watching a movie at home, Faaz came to me and said,

"Mommy, Faaz want to draw you..."

I smiled, and nodded.

"Ok, Faaz draw. Mommy want to see, is Faaz's drawing nice?" "Of course!" He answered confidently while bringing his magnetic whiteboard closer to me. With full concentration he drew....

After 1 minute......

"Ok, done! This is mommy!"

Faaz pointed to me the drawing proudly. Want to see how I look like? Brace yourself everyone....

Fadzil laugh so hard when he saw the drawing while Faaz grinning so-very-cheekily! Grrrr...geramness! But thinking of his effort, plus it was considered a complete face drawing with eyes, nose and mouth (smiling summore :P), I complimented his art. Tersipu-sipu si kecik tu :D

Unsatisfied, I asked Faaz to draw Fadzil too. Hihi, can't wait to see how his Daddy look like in his imagination....

The best part was, when he showed the drawing, Faaz explained that on the left of the face was Fadzil's hand, holding his iPhone. Hahaha, nampak sangat kat Daddy Faaz ni kejanya membelek phone je sampai anak pun notice :P

After laughing and made fun with each other's drawing, Fadzil said to me,

"Eh yang, you remember tak one cartoon yang Faaz tengok. Yang monster tu...?" "Erm, yang mana satu ni??"

I asked back..

"The one that loves to sing, a band or something."

Suddenly I remembered.

"Right! He was inspired from that cartoon ke...hahaha!"

Together we both laugh again. Why? Didn't know that Faaz was inspired to draw our faces based on the Happy Monster Band cartoon...

If you compared between this cartoon character and Faaz's drawing, there are similarities, aren't they? Haha! Sabar je la...

The Day My Twins Were Born

I know its been a while since my babies were born, and only today I managed to blog about it...ish, ish! Well, the first two months were really hectic with countless sleepless night and so was the first month of started working (blamed it to the new project I'm in). Lucky I had made the draft of it from the first week of delivery thus no 'crackin-my-head' to recall this historical day of mine is needed :)

Just like my first delivery in 2009, I had to undergo Cesarean section (c-sec) delivery for the second time as well. Due to my size and the weight I was carrying, Dato' Dr. Siti (my gynea) decided that it's the best for me to deliver the babies as soon as they reached their full terms; from week 36 onwards. After discussing with my other half whom at that moment was on a business trip to the Scandinavian land, we decided to wait till week 37. It was Fadzil that decided on the date...

The special day that will remains in Fadzil's & my memory was on Thursday 07-07-2011...

Dr. Siti had booked the OT for the 1.30pm slot a month ahead and we had pre-booked the single room on the very same day. However, a day before delivery an SDMC personnel called to inform us that there was no available single room thus I will be staying in a two-bedded room until the single room is available. I told her that I really need a single room as soon as possible as I will deliver a pair of babies. For your information, Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) only allows visitor to spend a night with the patience who stays in single room. Can you imagine me, with the pain that I have to go through after the operation and stays alone in the room with two babies?! scary isn't it?? T_T

Previously, I can't sleep the night before the delivery cause I was too scared of the whole operation thingy. This time I was more calm and relax as I know what to expect. But still, it was hard to close the eyes that night, it was a bit melancholy thinking that the time has come that Faaz will no more be my only baby. How will he react? Can he cope with the divided attention after 2 years of unconditional love only for him? What about me...? Can I successfully breastfeeding the twins? Am I ready to be a mother of 3? Too many unanswered questions lingers on my mind until I fell asleep as I hugged my son tightly that night...zzzZZ

~9.30am, 7.7.2011~

Checked in at SDMC with Fadzil, Faaz and mama. I was fasting since 8 am prior to the delivery. Had Nasi Lemak cooked by mama and dates for breakfast. Drank plenty of water, hoping to have enough colostrum to feed the twins later on..

~10.00am, 7.7.2011~

First thing first, the nurse came to tag me. I wore a single tag but with two MRN numbers ( my guess: to differentiate the babies?). Then the short 'interview' for the record purpose started. Some of the question asked includes my last day of period? (of which I have no idea :P), how many weeks I was at that moment? do I have allergy with certain medication? I only highlighted to them that I have a history of severe gastric. Then, she briefed me on the room facilities, the buttons, the switches, etc...

~10.30am, 7.7.2011~

Another nurse came to measure my blood pressure and my body temperature; this procedure was done for every hour. She then handed me my "uniform" :P. I was shaved *blushed* and then asked me to shower with a chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) shower gel to reduce the skin flora and to prevent from infection. As soon as I was all dressed up, they changed my tag...this time I had to wear two sets of tags; one for each baby..

~11.00am, 7.7.2011~

Dr. Siti came to visit me. She done a thorough checkup of the babies for the very last time before the operation. Alhamdulillah, all was well...everything was in a good condition :) An hour later, the anesthesiologist came in to confirm with me what type of epidural I opt for, the benefit and the risks. Of course I opt for the Combined Spinal-Epidural (CSE) or known as the "Walking Epidural" as I want to breastfeed my babies after the surgery. Actually, I was hoping for Dato' Dr. Radha. He was my previous anesthesiologist, in fact the most famous anesthesiologist in SDMC. Was satisfied with his service the last time but no luck for me this time. Tapi tak kisahla, the Malay Dr. seems nice too (sorry doc I forgot your name..huhu).

~12.00pm, 7.7.2011~

It was already noon, and people had started to came and visited me. Papa took a half day leave and came straight from the office and aunty Faridah came from Sunway. Nothing much, we just chat and watched the tv while killing the time...

~1.00pm, 7.7.2011~

My mother came as I was about to leave the room...just nice to bid me all the best for the delivery. All of them followed me as I was lying on the trolley, heading towards the operation theater. My heart beat faster, I was in mixed feeling, but calm. However, tears started to came out the minute I was about to go in the the OT room. Faaz looked at me with a sad eyes and full of worriness (seriously, I never seen him like that before) until Fadzil had to hug him and told him that "mommy is gonna be alright". Sayu sangat sangat... :( Both mothers kissed my forehead, followed by Fadzil and Faaz. I was then transported to the waiting bay inside the OT.

~1.30pm, 7.7.2011~

Sharped at 1.30pm, the nurses strolled me inside the Operation Theater room 2 together with my gynecologist and the anesthesiologist. As usual, Dr. Siti greeted me with a cheerful voice, "Hello Nor, are you ready to see your twins?", she asked with a warm smile...sejuk hati :) I had to sit up and bend down by holding a pillow and helped by nurses for the Epidural procedure. At first, I was so worried that I can't bend down due to my big stomach, alih-alih macam senang pulak. Pelik ok! Dr. pun puji. As expected, the Epidural shot was not that painful..it's only as if you were being pinch. Only a bit bellow as you feel the fluid coming in from the spinal towards your right and left legs.

As soon as the procedure ends, they placed me on the OT bed and prepared me. It was a bit chaos, the team was twice as before for the twins delivery. Everyone was so focused on their own task. I looked to my left side and saw two babies trolleys and warmers were already in placed, "Yes, Nadine..it's not a dream. Two babies are finally coming out of your womb..." I told myself. They finally put a curtain really closed on my face and put an oxygen mask (really need it as it was hard to breath when I had to lie down with extra weight on top of me). "So this is it...!" took a long deep breath and I was ready...I thot I was :P Didn't expect that this time the midwife was so nice that she had to update me what were they doing to my stomach..agak detail ok. Haduihla, terbayang2 acik...ngeri ok. :P

~1.59pm, 7.7.2011~

The announcement from Dr. Siti that I've waited finally came. She told me that they were about to push my tummy for the baby to come out. Oh my, I was so anxious! As before, I felt my body was shaken and with it came the sound I was waiting for...a cry of a baby. Subhanallah, the cry that I missed to hear, the cry that I was longing to hear. I followed the sound and to my left, I saw the precious twin # 1 was being cleaned and they sucked the mucus out of her lungs. She cried.

~2.00pm, 7.7.2011~

Within a split second, Dr. Siti told me to be prepared again. This time, she said that they will push harder for the second baby to come out and asked me to bear a bit of pain. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath again. The previous experience of giving birth was not that bad so I expected more or less, it will be the same...The thing was, just before I enter the OT room a nurse came to me and asked me to drink a gastric medicine. I told her was that necessary since I was supposed to be fasting. She said yes so I drank it.

The minute they pushed my stomach, I feel the deep pain. Instead of the stomach area, this time they had to pushed even higher (close to the chest). Of course the epidural only covers from the stomach downwards je kan.. T_T. When they pushed it higher, it triggers nausea and instantly I felt like vomitting. I tried to endure it as much as I can till I hear another baby cries. I cried as well. I am thankful...twin # 2 has safely arrived. I felt like vomitting but I was wearing the oxygen mask. Tried my best to make the nurse notice me until my blood pressure suddenly drop. That was when she took out the mask and asked if I was ok and I just shouted, "I want to vomit!". Instantly they placed the necessary apparatus and I let out the fluid. It was the gastric medicine that I took (thank God it was a sweet syrup :P). Thought that was it but then I felt choking pulak. I ended up coughing. It was the worst experience ever! Can you imagine that I had to vomit and cough while my stomach being sewn?! T_T

I was surprised to see their weight.
Was expecting 2kg the most but alhamdulillah, they are much healthier than I expected.
The midwife said to me that my twins were among the biggest in size as the usual weight are between 1.8kg -2kg.

But the pain immediately stopped the minute the midwives brought my children towards me to announce their gender and for me to kiss them. The first touched was miracle, tears of happiness came out. I finally met my twins...praise to Allah SWT. They were then being transported out of the room, to meet their daddy and the rest of the family for Azan and Tahnik while I was still lying there, waiting for them to finish sewing my body...how sad :P

~Around 2.30pm, 7.7.2011~

Relatives has surrounded the waiting area, eager to see the twins live for the very first time. Among them includes Fadzil's sister, aunties and cousins. Thanks to them, I managed to witness the moment Fadzil meet the lil ones, did the inspection, perform the azan and tahnik as well as the first reaction of Faaz upon seeing the babies via photos and videos. Priceless! :)

According to family members, Faaz was amazed with the presence of two babies but he was afraid to go closer as they were crying and were not properly cleaned yet. He was worried of me too. Constantly he asked of my where about. The face was constantly frowning. I was touched...he stays the way he is, my little boyfriend :)

~2.30pm, 7.7.2011~

The operation was a total success and I was strolled to the recovery bay inside the OT where they started to monitor me. As expected, my body shivered badly as a side effect of the epidural. However, it was controllable the minute they wrapped me with few blankets and put a host from the warmer inside the blanket. When you deliver a twins, the danger that you face as a mother was the risk of having Postpartum Hemorrhage; which is defined as the loss of blood in the postpartum period of more than 500ml. What I mean here is uterine atony, meaning that the uterus is not contracting enough to control the bleeding at the placental site. Do bear in mind, the placenta is bigger than the normal pregnancy, thus it took a while before the uterus can finally seared. Hence, the risk of loss of blood is much higher. In order to ensure that the placenta worked well, few times the nurse came to to push my stomach slowly to see the blood flow. It was painful each time..tsk!

~3.00pm, 7.7.2011~

If based on my previous experience, I had to stay here for an hour before being released to the ward. However, according to the nurse there (whom obviously saw how restless I was lying there, looking at the clock :P), half an hour is actually sufficient. It did cheer me up to hear that. However, till the clock almost passed 3.30pm, there was no sign that they will release me. I was so restless...dahla sakit each time they tekan my tummy..huk huk.

~3.30pm, 7.7.2011~

An hour had passed but there was no sign of them to release me. Each time the nurse came to check me I will asked the same question over and over again, "When will I be released?". and each time, the nurse will call the post delivery department to send a personnel to pick me up. Apparently they were "too busy" busy as they have many cases at the ward itself...grrr! sabar je tau! :(

~4.00pm, 7.7.2011~

Finally I was released after 11/2hours waiting in the recovery bay. Itupun lepas the Dr. bising2 why the patience (me) was still there *sigh*. As I was strolled out, none of the family member was there waiting for me. Apparently Fadzil went to pick up all our stuff and moved it to a new room. Yay! we finally got a single bedded room ;)

As I was about to be strolled out of the lift, I met with Fadzil's parents and Faaz. Apparently, they were just about to went home, pitying Faaz who didn't sleep the whole day, waiting for me at the hospital. According to mama, Faaz refused to go home at first as he firmly saying that he wanted to see me first. When we accidentally met, they were just managed to convince him to go home. Memang rezeki Faaz nak jumpa Mommy. Faaz was frowning when he saw me, it showed how much concern he has towards me. When I told him I was ok, and I smiled, he begun to smile and show his excitement, telling me that he has met his two 'adik' (lil sisters). They followed me to the room and went back after I was safely transferred to my bed.

~4.30pm, 7.7.2011~

Finally the babies arrived to the room. It was overwhelming to see both of them, tiny and adorable. Subhanallah... hey both reminded us of Faaz Naqi at this age. Quite similar! :) Me and Fadzil can't stop smiling each time we looked at them until I almost forgot of the pain that I felt. (FYI, at that time I already starting to feel the pain and move my legs). However, the pain getting more and more visible so I had to take the painkillers when the nurse offered me.

The first question I asked Fadzil upon seeing them was, "Which name shall we give to which baby?" Haha! :D It was Fadzil who decided that that Twin # 1 will be Faiqa Nayra and Twin #2 will be Falisya Nayla. So far, both name suits them well...alhamdulillah :)

The best and profound moment with the twins was the first time I breastfeed them. The lactation consultant and a nurse came to the room to assist me on this and I glad they did. With their assistance, the 'american football' position became a lot more comfortable (since I can't move that much). The first step was of course to wake both babies up...

Tears running out as I fed them and non-stop I prayed in my heart that may The Almighty granted my wish to exclusive breastfeed them as long as I can. And I still pray, praying hard until today. Falisya stayed with us after the feeding session while Faiqa was taken back to the nursery for monitoring purpose. Apparently her temperature did not fully normalized and she can't stop shivering after the delivery. Even after being given the colostrum, she still have low sugar in her blood that they had to formula fed her once. And because of that, for the first time in my life I experienced the 'bengkak susu', on the first night of the delivery. I had to pump out the milk and gave it to the nurse to the nursery. Lucky miss Medela was there with me. I cried, not because of the pain, but I cried that I finally experience it. During Faaz time, never once I felt my B's really full let alone experiencing this 'bengkak susu' thingy. Thank you, Allah. I guess the supplements that I've been taking since I was preggy did help a lot.

The family came to visit us again after Maghrib until the visiting hours ended at 9.30pm. Faiqa too, joned us when her sugar level has normalized. It was hard to bid goodbye to Faaz, but relieved to see how excited and loving he was (and still is!) towards the twins. Syukur! That night, for the first time, the four of us spent the night together.. :)

We stayed at the hospital for 4 days 3 night as the babies were detected with jaundice on the 3rd day. Alhamdulillah, after 1 day having the phototherapy, the reading reduced significantly. The best thing in SDMCSJ, the babies will be sent to the room during feeding time during the phototheraphy session. So, tak payah susah-susah nak pump susu... ;)

Before bidding goodbye to Room 362, we managed to snap few photos as token of memory of our stay here. Managed to snap few photos with my beloved Dr. Siti as well during her last visit. She did compliment how fast I started walking after the surgery and how I can endure the pain without the painkillers. FYI, I stopped taking the painkillers from day 2 onwards. Even Fadzil said that I was tougher and braver compared to the last experience. I guess, having to undergo the same experience twice was an advantage to me. But mainly, I become stronger because of the twins. They made me a fighter...

The experience of expecting and gave labour to a pair of twins will always be remembered for the rest of my life. I am so thankful to Allah SWT for this golden opportunity. Not sure will I have this chance again in the future...and not sure whether we will be having more child in the future. It all depends on fate. If it is a 'NO', I will miss this wonderful experience of being pregnant and having newborns very very dearly...

Makeup Tips

If you know me really well, I am sure you'll be skeptical towards me once you read this post's title. If not, I bet u'll wonder am I capable to share makeup tips due to my limited knowledge in this department...isn't it? :P

Hihi, don't worry, I am not gonna give you lesson / tips on makeup but I will share with you some knowledge that I got from attending a makeup demo here. It does benefited me, a person who always failed to follow makeup instructions via reading or via looking at the photos so I hope it will benefited you as well :). To me, the up, close and personal makeup demo is the only way for me to learn the proper ways of makeup (especially eyes makeup) but I did not have the desire to enroll myself for a makeup/makeover workshop.

Why did I said that? Ain't cosmetics, makeup and ladies can't be separated? Owh, don't get me wrong, I DO love cosmetics and makeup :). In fact, I do wears makeup. It's just that I don't have high passion towards it. For me, makeup means applying foundation/compress powder, mascara and lipgloss/lipstick. That is sufficient enough for me. I only wear the full makeup when I have events to attend or during special occasion, of which I hired the pro's to give their magical touch. Yours truly? Failed ye..haha! In the same boat as me, hubby too prefers me with light makeup except for attending events...skali skala bawak 'trophy wife' out, of course la kena menyerlah sket kan..hihi.

These two photos were taken during the first two years of working (with Maxis). These were the first time I went to professional makeup artist for makeup. I requested for light, night makeup on the first photo and my MUA went for a Krisdayanti eyes effect makeup (that what she claimed :P) in the second photo. Apparently I'm suitable for that since I have big eyes :P

When I entered the three zero phase recently, the interest to wear proper makeup (read: not heavy makeup) increases suddenly. And when I got the chance to see live demo from Victoria Jackson Cosmetics on proper ways to apply on makeup, I was thrilled..umpama pucuk dicita ulam mendatang, they said ;)

As I have shared in my previous post, this is the proper way of applying foundation.

Apply foundation from Top, Press and Pull down direction! ;)

As for the cheek, the technique of applying blusher depends on the shape of your face:

For Oval face:

Use your fingertips to locate the most prominent part of your cheekbone to apply blush and blend towards your temples to highlight your cheekbones.

For Oblong face:

Apply your blush from the apples of the cheeks and out towards your ears in a horizontal manner. This creates the illusion of a wider face.

For Round face:

Apply blush to the area above the apples of your cheeks and blend slightly forward to thin the round face. Avoid getting the blush too close to your nose; this highlights the roundness of your cheeks.

For Square face:

Beginning at the center of the eyes apply your blush on the cheekbones. Blend toward your temples and apply a dab to your forehead and chin to soften the square angle of the face.

How do you find it? It is a lot more easier to imagine via visualization rather than reading instructions isn't it? I have applied the techniques that I learnt from the VJ demos the day after and I find it not that hard actually. The only thing that I still failed of is applying eyes makeup. Been seeing few clips and seen live demo but somehow it didn't work well when I applied it myself *sigh*...I guess a lot of practice needed. Will try to find time someday, if not the VJ's "Exotic Eyes" palette that I got recently will be a waste!

And since we are talking about makeup and cosmetics ni, has anyone visited the Sephora store yet? Mesti best kan?! I've always wanted to visit them ever since they opened in April this year but haven't got the chance to do it till today :( I can imagine my eyes will be sparkling bing bing as I entered the store..hehehe, so much of daydreaming, Nadine! :))

Create Memories With Mum Getaway

Recently, I was invited by Nuffnang Malaysia to join the 'Create Memories with Mum' Workshop and it was held at Aman Rimba Estate, Janda Baik. The one day workshop was organized and supported by Her World Magazine while the MMA (Malaysian Medical Association) HPV Vaccination Program for Teen is supported by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pharmaceuticals. The workshop aims to educate both mothers and daughters on the risk of cervical cancer and how it can be prevented.

I was so excited to receive the invitation at first since it was my very first Nuffnang event. However, deep inside I felt guilty to leave my children especially the twins at home with their daddy on weekend. Being someone who is supportive and understanding, my other half managed to convince me to join this workshop and I am glad I did :) Not only I had fun involved in the activities and meeting new blogger friends (whom obviously are famous!), I am now aware of cervical cancer and its prevention. Really, really useful for someone who has daughters like me!

We gathered at Blu Inc. Media office in PJ by 8a.m and from there we were transported to Janda Baik via express bus. The journey to Aman Rimba Estate took about 1 hr 30 min. As the road was pretty narrow as it goes further inside, our bus had to stop halfway in Janda Baik and we had to walk further to Aman Rimba. It was pretty tiring as the sun already shines brightly but as soon as we saw the tranquil scenary especially the river and the wooden bungalows, we became excited and anxious at the same time!

As expected, Aman Rimba is a beautiful place! The lush greenery surrounding and the Balinese concept deco gave a warmed welcome. Without hesitant, me and mommaholicsuri quickly took a photo in front of the main entrance. We love every bits of it! ;)

The first thing we did upon reaching here of course was filling our empty stomach with scrumptious breakfast. Nasi Lemak, Lontong and nyummylicious traditional dessert were among the menu.

As the Malay saying, "Gendang gendut tali kecapi, kenyang perut senang hati", all the participants were focused when the briefing was given by Her World representative afterwards. The first activity The first activity of the workshop was the treasure hunt. Before the game started, all the participants were grouped up into 5 teams; YELLOW, BLUE, ORANGE, SILVER & PINK. Coincidentally, I got the pink ribbon which means I was in the PINK theme, matching with my top! Hihi…

There were 9 main task plus 1 bonus task to be completed within an hour. Among the tasks that we have to perform includes taking photos of listed exotic plants around the estate, solving riddles, paper cutting activity and searching for hidden items.

I was the only mommy blogger in my team, the rest are pairs of mother-daughter. It was nice to see the bonding between mothers and daughters in solving the problem and finishing a task. Seriously, I wished the twinnies will grow fast cause I’m so looking forward to have my mother-daughter session with them ;)

After lunch, we proceed with the second activity, the most important activity of the day: a talk on cervical cancer. The talk entitled “Protecting against Cervical Cancer Together” and it was given by Dr. Yap Moy Juan, the Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist of The Fetal Medicine & Gynecology Center Petaling Jaya.

First of all, we were educated on HPV and cervical cancer and here are some important facts that I would like to share with you dear readers:

Cervical cancer begins in the cervix – part of the uterus that opens to the vagina.

Cervical cancer is caused by persistent infection with an extreme common and contagious virus: the human papillomavirus (HPV)

How it is transmitted?

Who are at high risk?

What are the prevention levels?

Did you know that globally, cervical cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death among women, killing one woman every two minutes? Scary isn’t it? :( In Malaysia itself, cervical cancer is the 3rd most common cancer among Malaysian females after breast and colorectal cancer. It is even scarier to know that in 1998, 7.9% of all cancer admissions in government hospitals were due to cervical cancers, of which 10.5% died from the disease :(

As a way of prevention and giving awareness among Malaysian women, the Ministry of Health undertake a HPV National Immunisation Program (NIP) to protect 13 year old/Form 1 girls against the most common strains of cancer-causing HPV since 2010 and earlier this year, the MMA HPV Vaccination Programme for Teens was launched by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) with the support from GSK Pharmaceutical.

“What is the MMA HPV Vaccination Programme for Teens is all about?” one might ask.

Well, this program aims to give cervical cancer vaccination to teenage girls from 14 to 19 years of age where they will received two of the three doses of vaccination at an access price while the third dose will be provided FREE of charge. MMA believes that all teens (girls) should be protected among this disease and given fair access to the vaccination.

It is a 9-months programme, which started from 1st March 2011 till 31st December 2011 for Wilayah Persekutuan and from 1st June 2011 till 31st December 2011 extended nationwide.

In order to sign up for this programme, the parent/guardian signature is needed in the first place. Then, go to any participating clinics closest to where you live to get the vaccination. For the list of participating clinics, kindly dial the hotline number: 1800 22 8688 (Monday-Friday between 10:00 a.m and 6:00 p.m excluding public holiday). Payment will be made in two equal installments of RM233 upon the administration of the 1st and 2nd dose of the vaccine. The doses will be given in a six months period where the 2nd dose is a month apart from the 1st dose and the final dose will be given six months later.

Mrs. Victoria Victor and daughter Pamela Victor, are one of the mother-daughter pair who participates in this workshop. Pamela has successfully completed her full course of HPV vaccination. According to her, everyone should be protected against cervical cancer and take the necessary prevention action.

I totally agree with Pamela and what her mom did for her is the right thing – PROTECTING her daughter. InsyaAllah, I will do the same too when the twins reached 14 years old. Mommies, we want the best for our children, don’t we? ;)

What about us, mommies? What type of prevention that we have?
The answer is, do pap smear once a year as prevention :)

A mother and daughter bonds well on things related to either beauty, fashion or cooking. Therefore, after the talk it was the time for demo and trial sessions by Origins and Victoria Jackson Cosmetics. Everyone was excited, not to forget including yours truly…hihi.

Before the skin-pampering sessions started, we were given a set of questionnaire to find out how old is our skin *gulp!* Being someone who has neverending skin problem, I already guessed that my skin must be older than my biological age. True enough, my skin are 6 years older than me…huwaaaa! :(

Victoria Jackson Cosmetic on the other hand provided us with make up demo as well as sharing the tips on how to allure natural looks with their makeup range which is suitable with their tagline, The “No Makeup” Makeup :)

The demo showed us on how to apply makeup during the day, as well as function makeup. Being someone who is not a maestro in makeup, I find the tips given by their makeup artist were very useful to me. Here’s one of the tutorials that I managed to record:

Tea was served before the prize giving ceremony for the treasure hunt that we had earlier. Twinnies Are Bald!

Alhamdulillah, after delayed for almost a month finally the twins' head have been shaved last Saturday & Sunday. We actually wanted to do it as soon as the confinement ends but my FIL requested us to delay it because of the Eid. He said, let the girls looked at their best for the Eid first..hihi :)

If previously with Faaz, we were quite worried to touch his delicate hair let alone to shave it ourselves, this time around we decided to do it on our own for the girls! *excited*. So on Saturday morning, we started off the 'shaving activity' with Falisya, as she was the first to woke up for morning feed and bathe. As soon as this active lil baby finished off her milk, I positioned her to sleep on her back at the sofa and the process begun by trimming her hair first.

Falisya was behaving well, since she was cleaned and had a full stomach of course so the process became quite easy. She just moved a bit when Fadzil applied the aftershave cream (I guess because of the cool sensation) and that's it! But being perfectionist ourselves, the process took us a while as we wanted to shave it till its clean n clear! :P

Faiqa finally woke up and cried out her lung for her milk milk as we were about to complete the session *phew*. However, it was already lunchtime when I bathe her so we decided to shave her later. The activity was put on-hold untill the next day as we went out to MidValley Megamall for lunch and some shopping. Balik pun dah malam..hihi.

The very next morning, we continued the shaving activity with Faiqa. It was even earlier than Falisya as we had to attend an Aqiqah ceremony during lunchtime. Thus, for Faiqa, we did it before she had her bath, and while she was having her early morning feed.. Yup, Fadzil shave her head while I was breastfeeding her to save time! :P Lucky us, she was behaving well too. She only move a bit when she felt the coolness on her head, just like Falisya. Good girl ;)

Now, my two lil princesses are bald. Can't wait for their hair to start growing again and at the same time anxious to see how's the hair will look like. Will they inherits Fadzil's thick, wavy hair? or medium-thick and straight hair like me. We'll see...
